Explore ancient temples to misty bays and vibrant streets, where each moment uncovers the rich depth, lively rhythm, and serene beauty of the region.
Itinerary
We meet at O.R. Tambo International for our flight via Singapore to Siem Reap, Cambodia. An enriching journey through two of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant and culturally rich countries lies ahead.
We arrive in Siem Reap, where our guide greets us at the airport. The drive takes us beneath the shade of ancient trees and through a grand stone gate into Angkor Thom, once known as “the big city.”
At the heart of this former capital, we explore the Bayon Temple, its towers lined with calm, smiling faces that seem to follow us wherever we go. We continue to the 11th-century Baphuon before walking along the Terrace of the Elephants, where royal processions once took place. The nearby Terrace of the Leper King reveals intricate carvings, some believed to depict apsaras, their fine details still clear after centuries.
After this first glimpse of Cambodia’s history, we return to the hotel to settle in. In the evening, we share a relaxed dinner together, a gentle beginning to the journey ahead.
Highlight:
After an early breakfast, we visit Angkor Wat, where the scale and symmetry of its towers are matched only by the precision of its carvings. It is a place that rewards quiet observation, each stone holding a fragment of the past.
Later, we travel to Kompong Khleang, a stilted village on the edge of Tonlé Sap Lake. We walk among the wooden homes, meet some of the residents, and take a boat through the waterways to glimpse daily life shaped by the rhythm of the lake.
The afternoon is yours to rest or explore at your own pace. This evening, enjoy dinner at your own expense, featuring traditional Cambodian flavours and accompanied by an Apsara dance performance. For those who wish, an optional tuk-tuk ride to Pub Street offers a lively contrast to the day’s calm.
Highlights:
Enjoy a morning visit to Ta Prohm, known as the “Tomb Raider Temple.” Here, centuries-old stone walls intertwine with the roots of towering trees, creating an atmosphere both quiet and powerful.
For lunch, you may like to explore the Old Market in Siem Reap, where stalls brim with colour, spice, and the hum of local life. Later, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. On arrival, our driver and guide take us to the hotel, where you can settle in and unwind after the day’s journey.
Highlights:
Wake up in Hanoi, Vietnam’s lively capital, and begin the day with a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from the outside). Continue to the 1,000-year-old Temple of Literature, the country’s first university, where quiet courtyards and graceful pavilions offer a sense of calm in the heart of the city.
Next, take a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake, where narrow streets, French architecture, and a constant hum of life capture the spirit of Hanoi. In the afternoon, we visit Bat Trang, a pottery village on the banks of the Red River, where you can try shaping a piece of clay yourself before returning to the city.
This evening, you may choose to attend the Quintessence of Tonkin show with buffet dinner; an artful performance that brings Vietnam’s music, culture, and legends to life.
Highlights:
We leave Hanoi and travel to Tuan Chau Pier, stopping en route at a pearl workshop to learn how these treasures are cultivated. Around midday, we board our private cruise through Halong Bay, where limestone islands rise dramatically from calm, turquoise waters.
Lunch and dinner are served on board, featuring freshly caught seafood and uninterrupted views of the bay. As evening settles, you may try night fishing or simply relax on deck before retreating to your cabin for a peaceful night surrounded by the stillness of this remarkable seascape.
Highlights:
After breakfast on board, take in the quiet beauty of Halong Bay once more as we cruise back to the pier. From there, we transfer to the airport for a short flight to Da Nang.
On arrival, our local guide meets us and we continue to Hoi An, a riverside town known for its preserved architecture and gentle pace. After checking in at the hotel, we share a relaxed dinner together before settling in for the evening.
Highlight:
After breakfast, take part in a hands-on Vietnamese cooking experience with a local chef. The day begins at a nearby market, where baskets overflow with fresh produce and the air is filled with lively conversation. From there, we continue to Tra Que Village to wander through the herb gardens and learn about traditional farming practices. Pick your own herbs, prepare a few classic dishes, and enjoy the meal you’ve helped create.
In the afternoon, we explore Hoi An’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, where cobbled lanes and centuries-old houses tell stories of trade and tradition. We visit the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and the Phung Hung trading house before enjoying some free time to wander, shop, or simply take in the glow of lanterns as evening falls.
Highlights:
Today is set aside for leisure, with the option to visit Ba Na Hills and the remarkable Golden Hand Bridge. The journey begins with a scenic cable car ride that drifts above dense jungle, offering wide views of the coastline below.
At the top, wander through the charming French Village, designed with cobbled streets, pastel façades, and a small church that feels a world away from the tropics. Those looking for a bit of fun can visit Fantasy Park for its rides and games or take a quieter walk through the Fairytale Forest and the mysterious Underworld.
Highlights:
This morning is free to enjoy Hoi An at your own pace. Later, we transfer to Da Nang Airport for our flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest and most dynamic metropolis.
On arrival, our local guide greets us, and we head to the hotel before setting out to explore the city’s blend of French colonial and Vietnamese architecture. We walk through the French Quarter and along Dong Khoi Street, stopping at the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the central post office designed by Gustave Eiffel, and the Independence Palace.
We return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and time to unwind.
Highlights:
This morning, we travel north of Ho Chi Minh City to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive network hand-dug and expanded during the Vietnam War. The visit begins with a short documentary, followed by a walk through the passageways where kitchens, offices, meeting rooms, weapons stores, and even hospitals were carved into the earth. The visit ends with a taste of Khoai Mi Nuoc Cot Dua, boiled cassava that was a wartime staple.
Back in the city, we continue our exploration at the War Remnants Museum. The afternoon is free to relax, and dinner at the hotel is at your own expense.
Note: Cu Chi Tunnels are not recommended for guests with claustrophobia.
Highlights:
This morning, we leave the energy of Ho Chi Minh City behind and travel to the calm waterways of the Mekong Delta, often called Vietnam’s “Green Venice.” In Ben Tre, we explore the Chet Say River by motorboat, stopping at local workshops to see brickmaking and mat-weaving. Along the way, we meet village families, try traditional crafts, and sample fresh tropical fruits.
Afterwards, we explore the countryside by bicycle or motor cart, passing rice fields and orchards before enjoying a generous lunch of regional dishes at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, a gentle sampan ride through smaller canals offers time to absorb the quiet beauty of the delta. We return to Ho Chi Minh City for free time.
Please Note: Chinatown (Cho Lon) will be viewed from the bus without stopping for sightseeing.
Highlights:
On our final day, enjoy a relaxed morning in Ho Chi Minh City. Take time for last-minute shopping, visit pagodas, or explore museums at your own pace.
In the late afternoon, we leave the hotel for our flight home via Singapore, carrying with us the memories of Vietnam and Cambodia gathered along the way.
Highlight:
We arrive at O.R. Tambo International after a journey through Cambodia and Vietnam. The detailed temples of Angkor, the towering limestone formations of Halong Bay, and the evening glow of Ho Chi Minh City have left lasting impressions. We hope to welcome you on another Seagull journey soon.

We are here to help
The tour leader collects a set amount from each member of a tour. This kitty is then used to tip the local tour guide and city guides, bus drivers, any other assistants, and restaurant staff. We believe in tipping for good service as a token of appreciation, especially as many workers in tourism rely on tips to supplement their income.
Although we cannot apply on your behalf, we are more than willing to give guidance and assistance with completing forms. We do this for many clients on a near-daily basis. It does, however, remain the responsibility of the client to ensure that they get the correct visa on time.
Remember that we limit the number of guests on our tours. This means more time at stops and sites. We definitely do not do groups of 30 pax, where guests are rushed from one site to the other. There is enough time to explore on your own.
We always suggest USD/Euro 50 to USD/Euro 100 per person per day. As we mostly include two meals per day on our tours, this will be enough for lunch/dinner, some snacks, and memento shopping. Should you want to buy larger items, we suggest taking along your credit card. Remember to advise the bank that you will be travelling.
Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email with the itinerary which includes pricing, inclusions and flight options.
