Day 2
Welcome to Dubrovnik - The pearl of the Adriatic

Dubrovnik

  • As we arrive in Dubrovnik, the Adriatic sea sparkles before us.
  • After a hassle-free transfer to the charming Adria Hotel, take a moment to soak in the beauty of this mediaeval city.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for your first night in this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 3
Discover Dubrovnik’s timeless charm

Dubrovnik

  • After breakfast, we’ll have a guided tour of Dubrovnik’s historic city, between the city walls.
  • The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure—consider an exciting cable car ride up Mount Srđ for breathtaking views.
  • Later, join us for wine tasting in the scenic Cavtat or Konavle Valley, where local wines are paired with mesmerising countryside views.

Day 4
Sailing the Elaphiti Islands

Dubrovnik – Elaphiti Islands – Dubrovnik

  • The enchanting Elaphiti Islands await! We set sail for a full-day boat excursion, visiting the sun-drenched islands of Sipan, Kolocep and Lopud.
  • Enjoy a fresh, traditional lunch on the crystal-clear Adriatic waters.
  • After returning to Dubrovnik, enjoy the magic of this Old Town and relax with dinner at the hotel.

Day 5
The mystical Neretva Delta and Split

Metkovic – Split

  • Journey through the Neretva Delta on traditional Trupica boats, where we’ll experience the local flavours—schnapps and seasonal fruits.
  • After lunch, we make our way to the vibrant city of Split, where you’ll have free time to explore its ancient alleys and waterfront promenades.

Day 6
A glimpse of island life – Hvar

Split – Island Hvar – Split

  • We ferry across the Adriatic to Island Hvar, known for its sunny climate, lavender fields and sun-kissed beaches.
  • Our journey starts at port Stari Grad, where we’ll hop on a local bus to Hvar town to adventure through its ancient fortresses and charming streets.

Day 7
Mediaeval charm, waterfalls and Zadar relaxation

Split – Trogir – Krka National Park – Zadar

  • Our journey continues with a stop in Trogir, a mediaeval town that feels like stepping into a fairytale.
  • After a coffee break, we head to Krka National Park to witness its cascading waterfalls, where turquoise waters rush through a lush green landscape.
  • We arrive in Zadar in the evening, with time to relax and unwind.

Plitvice Lakes - A wonderland of waterfalls

Zadar – Plitvice – Opatja

  • Here, a series of waterfalls plunge into turquoise lakes amidst dense forests, an impossibly beautiful display.

Day 9
Roman amphitheatre, Rovinj charm, Istrian wine

Opatja – Pula – Rovinj – Opatja

 

  • Today’s adventure takes us through the Istria Peninsula where we will visit Pula’s awe-inspiring Roman amphitheatre, the sixth largest in the world, followed by a visit to the seaside town of Rovinj, known for its candy-coloured buildings and winding cobblestone alleys.
  • We indulge in a wine-tasting experience amidst the rolling Istrian hills to round off the day.

Day 10
Postojna cave & Ljubljana - A hidden gem in Slovenia

Opatja – Ljubljana

  • Cross into Slovenia and visit the magnificent Postojna Cave, where underground chambers and glittering formations tell stories of millions of years.
  • In the afternoon, we arrive in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital, where we explore the city at leisure.

Day 11
The tranquillity of Lake Bled

Ljubljana – Bled – Ljubljana

  • Today, we embark on a fairytale journey to Lake Bled.
  • A traditional Pletna boat, rowed by a single oarsman, takes us to the island church on Lake Bled. After a stroll through the gardens, we climb 99 steps to the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary.
  • We return to Ljubljana in the evening for a farewell dinner, where we reflect on the beautiful journey we’ve shared.

Day 12
Farewell to Slovenia

Ljubljana

  • Enjoy a leisurely morning in Ljubljana, with late check-out giving you time to explore more of this delightful city.
  • In the afternoon, we transfer to the airport for our flight home, carrying with us memories of Croatia’s rich history, natural beauty and the warm hospitality we’ve experienced along the way.

Return to South Africa

The journey begins with an anticipated flight from Johannesburg to the Old Town of Dubrovnik, where we explore the pearl of the Adriatic, enjoy local wine tasting and sail through the cr ystal-clear Adriatic waters to Elaphiti Islands. From there, we continue to the vibrant cit y of Split, experience the island paradise of Hvar and explore the stunning water falls of Krka National Park. We explore the breathtaking Plit vice Lakes, a world-renowned wonderland of water falls. Next, we head to Opatija to visit the Roman amphitheatre in Pula and savour some Istrian wine. Af ter crossing into Slovenia, we visit the magnificent Postojna Cave, Lake Bled and Ljubljana before flying home with cherished memories of Croatia’s beaut y and culture.

We are here to help

The tour leader collects a set amount from each member of a tour. This kitty is then used to tip the local tour guide and city guides, bus drivers, any other assistants, and restaurant staff. We believe in tipping for good service as a token of appreciation, especially as many workers in tourism rely on tips to supplement their income.

Although we cannot apply on your behalf, we are more than willing to give guidance and assistance with completing forms. We do this for many clients on a near-daily basis. It does, however, remain the responsibility of the client to ensure that they get the correct visa on time.

Remember that we limit the number of guests on our tours. This means more time at stops and sites. We definitely do not do groups of 30 pax, where guests are rushed from one site to the other. There is enough time to explore on your own.

We always suggest USD/Euro 50 to USD/Euro 100 per person per day. As we mostly include two meals per day on our tours, this will be enough for lunch/dinner, some snacks, and memento shopping. Should you want to buy larger items, we suggest taking along your credit card. Remember to advise the bank that you will be travelling.
