What to expect

Itinerary

Day 1
Here we go!

We meet at O.R. Tambo International Airport and check in for our flight to Tanzania. Now is the time to embrace the essence of Pole Pole. Sit back and relax into the adventure that lies ahead. It’s impossible to know exactly what’s in store; after all, safaris are thrillingly unpredictable.

Every moment holds the potential to delight, surprise and exhilarate.

Day 2
A Soft Landing on a Coffee Estate

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the tranquil Arusha Coffee Lodge; your gateway into Tanzania. Nestled in the shadow of Mount Meru on a working coffee plantation, this peaceful haven offers a slow exhale after the journey. Fragrant mornings, woodsmoke drifting from chimneys, and the rhythmic sound of beans being raked to dry; all invite you to arrive fully.

Tonight, you’ll rest in a Plantation Room that blends old-world charm with warm, grounded luxury.

Highlight:

  • Time to breathe, settle and ease into Tanzania

Day 3
Baobabs, Elephants and Vast Horizons

Depart for Tarangire, where ancient baobab trees dot the landscape and elephant herds roam in silence. This is one of Tanzania’s lesser-known parks, but also one of its most soulful.

After a sumptuous lunch at Tarangire Safari Lodge, your game drive continues en route to Tarangire Sopa Lodge, where you can relax on your private balcony before heading to the restaurant to sample fine local cuisine.

Highlights:

  • Scenic journey to Tarangire National Park
  • Lunch with views at Tarangire Safari Lodge

Day 4
Gentle Tempos and Big Cats

Cross into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the quiet wilds of Ndutu. This lesser-travelled corner of the Southern Serengeti has an elemental feel. It is open, raw, and pulsing with life. Big cats roam the plains, and the landscape moves with migratory rhythms.

You’ll relax with a lunch at Lake Ndutu Luxury Camp, a characterful retreat that mirrors its wild surroundings with thoughtful details and soul. A game drive in the afternoon opens the door to encounters that few others see.

Highlights:

  • Lunch at a tented camp on the edge of Lake Ndutu
  • Afternoon game drive in a remote, big cat region

Day 5
Following the Herds

After breakfast, we leave Ndutu behind and journey toward the central Serengeti. Wildlife sightings continue en route, with shifting landscapes along the way. By midday, we arrive at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge, where lunch is served with sweeping views.

Later this afternoon, an open-vehicle game drive offers another chance to track the herds and soak in the golden light of the savannah. Back at the lodge, dinner is served under vast skies; a quiet close to a full day.

Highlights:

  • Travel deeper into the Serengeti
  • Scenic lunch and downtime at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Day 6
Cinematic and Timeless

This is the Serengeti of legend; wide open plains, scattered wildlife, and space to breathe. A morning game drive sets the tone, with our expert guides reading the land and following its subtle signs. No two drives are ever the same.

After a relaxed break back at the lodge, we head out again in the afternoon, exploring deeper into this vast and unscripted landscape. Today is about presence, perspective, and the quiet thrill of simply being here.

Highlight:

  • Morning and afternoon game drives

Day 7
Another Day in the Wild

We invite you to another day of witnessing the scale and silence of this iconic landscape. Perhaps a cheetah stalks its prey or zebras’ zigzag toward the water. In the hands of your experienced guides, your journey unfolds smoothly, leaving you to focus on what matters most: being in the moment.

Highlight:

  • Slow, surprising encounters in the wild

Day 8
Rim of an Ancient World

After breakfast, we leave the Serengeti behind and make our way toward Ngorongoro. Game viewing continues en route, with the landscape gradually shifting as we climb toward the crater highlands.

Lunch is served at our lodge, set on the rim with sweeping, mist-hung views. Later this afternoon, we visit a nearby Maasai village, an opportunity for connection and insight into a way of life shaped by this land.

Highlights:

  • Lunch with sweeping views from the crater’s edge
  • Visit a Maasai village for cultural insight

Day 9
Descent into Deep Time

After breakfast, we set off for a half-day safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most remarkable natural wonders. This vast, unbroken caldera shelters an incredible variety of wildlife within its steep walls.

With a packed lunch in hand, we spend the day immersed in this ancient landscape, moving at nature’s pace. In the late afternoon, we return to the lodge above the rim to relax and take in the views.

Highlights:

  • Descend into an ancient volcanic caldera
  • Picnic lunch in the wild

Day 10
The Long Gaze Back

After a final breakfast, return to Arusha for lunch and a quiet reflection before your international flight.

As the vehicle hums along the road, there’s time to notice how the journey has left its mark, not just in photos, but in something slower and deeper. You’ve travelled, yes. But more than that, you’ve felt Tanzania.

Return to Arusha for lunch and a quiet pause

FAQs

We are here to help

The tour leader collects a set amount from each member of a tour. This kitty is then used to tip the local tour guide and city guides, bus drivers, any other assistants, and restaurant staff. We believe in tipping for good service as a token of appreciation, especially as many workers in tourism rely on tips to supplement their income.

Although we cannot apply on your behalf, we are more than willing to give guidance and assistance with completing forms. We do this for many clients on a near-daily basis. It does, however, remain the responsibility of the client to ensure that they get the correct visa on time.

Remember that we limit the number of guests on our tours. This means more time at stops and sites. We definitely do not do groups of 30 pax, where guests are rushed from one site to the other. There is enough time to explore on your own.

We always suggest USD/Euro 50 to USD/Euro 100 per person per day. As we mostly include two meals per day on our tours, this will be enough for lunch/dinner, some snacks, and memento shopping. Should you want to buy larger items, we suggest taking along your credit card. Remember to advise the bank that you will be travelling.

Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email with the itinerary which includes pricing, inclusions and flight options.
